The Ghana Country Water Partnership (CWP-Ghana) organized a day’s workshop for the validation of the Country Needs Assessment on Integrated Flood Management in the Volta Basin in Ghana. The workshop was held at the conference room of Erata Hotel on 16th September, 2016. In attendance were key government institutions drawn from ministries, department and agencies, civil society and the media with a total of 28 members present. The meeting was chaired by Madam Adwoa Paintsil, of the Water Resources Commission (WRC). The Meeting enabled stakeholders to appreciate the status and country context of floods management and the mechanisms put in place to attenuate the impacts. The gathering also recognised the need for an integrated approach to the management of floods in country. Subject to the suggestions/comments made by stakeholders, the Needs Assessment report was validated.
