The GCWP continues to network with stakeholders so as to expand its engagement and outreach activities for a viable and sustainable water partnership in the Gambia. The Gambia is part of the OMVG Sambangalou Dam Project on the Gambia River. As part of the Electricity component of the project, the Gambia has formed a National Project Steering Committee to supervise the activities and the GCWP was nominated to serve as a member this committee. The committee was inaugurated in July and held its first meetings. It is planned to hold meetings on a bi-monthly and on ad-hoc basis. Two local coordinating committees were also set up comprising of representatives from the regions. GCWP participated in the selection process and the committees were inaugurated. During the inauguration and workshop, GCWP National Coordination was invited to present on IWRM for River Basin Organisations and Water resources management functions at the river basin scales including Transboundary Water Laws.
